‘Soronous Stones’

For this installation with Kudhva, the brushstrokes are geologically inspired, resembling the strata and structure of the dramatic granite and quartz coastline of North Cornwall.

Abstract depictions of the iconic, lone rocks which speckle the coastline emerge from the bare silk surface, as they do from the sea. Free floating on empty silk, and within the space of the Engine House, shifting with the breeze, this format speaks to the impermanence of land, even these ancient landforms.
